Car vs. Pole

On Friday, December 22 at 23:55, CHFD was dispatched for a "Traffic accident with damage" on Triphammer Rd. Engine 203 responded at 23:57 and arrived on scene to find a telephone pole severed at the base while the top still hung in place with some minor sparking at the wires. A severely damaged vehicle was found a short distance away from the crash site. Both human and canine occupants were uninjured and declined medical transport. Command Unit 261 and 243 arrived on scene to establish incident management with Cayuga Heights Police. Support Unit 242 arrived to assist with traffic control. CHFD units secured the scene until the arrival of NYSEG.
